Portraiture.

Here is one I took earlier which gives a shallow DoF.
This is my little man Dante, I am not too sure if this shallow or med DoF.
Samsung
Colourspace sRGB
No Flash
Focal length 55mm
F number F/8
exposure time 1/90sec
iso400

Challenge #1 Shallow DoF

So this is my first posting and omg was it a challenge just to find out how to post, seriously need to catch up, anyways this is exhibit 'A' plant. I have the plant in focus and you may notice the closed bud on the left is already blurring out.

woohooo. wana buy anew lens now. http://www.digital-photography-school.com/how-to-get-shallow-depth-of-field-in-your-digital-photos

Equipment used is Samsung NX11, no flash, focal length 42mm, f number F/6.3, exposure time 1/6sec, iso-800, Apperture priority, colourspace sRGB.

One thing i have just noticed is the colours where a bit dull as I previously took the picture using Adobe RGB instead of sRGB. I hear you ask what is sRGB well http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/adobe-rgb.htm tells you the story. oh great my little 'add image' icon doesn't work. not having any fun here. back again it works now dont ask me why. so now i have attached the picture.

C'mon Roy it does not need be a person as the subject to utilise your camera.

Challenge #1 Mills

Camera EOS 450D
Focal Length 50mm
F-stop f/1.8
Exposure time 1/400 sec

This is Amelia, I like the contrast in this photo and the Depth of Field is very shallow - the eyes are in focus but the ears are already going out of focus.
